How to change name servers?

When you register a domain name with SmartyHost, your domain name is pointed to SmartyHost name servers by default. If you want to point your domain name to external name servers (such as your developer's name servers), you'll need to manually change the name servers in your Toolkit.

FAQ

1. Does the change take effect immediately?

Once you've saved the change, it'll take 24-48 hours for the change to propagate around the Internet.

2. Where do I add the new name servers' IP addresses?

You don't need to add the IP addresses for the new name servers. Our system will match the new name servers with their public IP addresses automatically.
